Community Advisory Committee (CAC)
Community Advisory Committee is an opportunity for parents of children with current IEP’s to meet and learn about opportunities and supports within the Morongo Basin.
CAC provides parent education and advocacy training, review and development of the special education local plan, participation in district committees directly affecting special education programs, and addresses questions and concerns regarding special education programs that support students with Individualized Education Plans. C.A.C is dedicated to ensuring a high quality education for all MUSD students receiving Special education services and supports.
Who: C.A.C. Meetings are open to all members of the public. Parents/family members, care givers and community agency workers with an interest are encouraged to attend.
Meeting Location: OLD Joshua Tree Elementary School, 5051 Sunburst Street in Joshua Tree, Ca.
CAC:
Helps take the mystery out of the special education process and paperwork.
Teaches about special education programs.
Allow you to bring beneficial suggestions regarding special education issues to the school district.
Helps you connect with other parents with children with exceptional needs.
Teaches about the different support agencies in the basin.
Teaches about the different disability categories and the opportunities available to those students.
