Understanding the Basics

For students to be eligible to attend a four-year university upon graduation, they must meet certain admission requirements. To meet these requirements, students must achieve what is called A through G.

To be A-G, a student must: 

• Have a C or higher in core classes (all semesters).

• Have 4 years of English.

• Have 3 years of college prep math (4 recommended). 

• Have 2 years of college prep, lab science (3 recommended). 

• Have 2 years of social science. 

• Have 2 years of world languages (same language). 

• Have 1 year of visual or performing arts. 

• Have 1 year of college prep elective.
