It is with great enthusiasm that I write to you as the newly appointed principal of Landers Elementary School. My name is Kristie Mahan and I am honored to work with this incredible community of educators, parents and students.
I come to LES with 23 years of experience in the Morongo Unified School District in a variety of roles including teaching, social-emotional learning and administration. As some of you may know, I previously worked at LES for six years as an MTSS coordinator and as the interim principal. I’m excited to rejoin the Coyote family.
I believe in the power of collaboration between parents, teachers and administrators and I'm thrilled to work with a community that shares my commitment to student success. By working together, we can create an environment where every child feels valued, supported and challenged to reach their full potential.
I would like to take a moment to thank the entire LES leadership team for their hard work and dedication in leading LES during the search for a permanent principal. In particular I’d like to thank Mr. Doug Weller for acting as the interim principal over the last few months. I plan on building off of the work the team has done so far and I hope to provide continuity in leadership for the school community.
Throughout the remainder of the year, I intend to engage with parents through various channels including regular meetings, conferences and community events. Clear and open communication is essential for the success of our students, and I encourage you all to reach out to me with any questions, concerns or ideas you may have.
I am looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead for Landers Elementary School. Let us make this year a memorable and successful one for our students.
Sincerely,
Kristie Mahan, Principal
